Country swooner Taylor Swift has a squeaky clean image and a huge fan base, and it is something she does not take for granted. Swift recently sat down to talk with 60 Minutes, and the interview will air on Sunday, November 20, 2011 (on CBS, channel 5 in Scottsdale). In the interview, Taylor talks about being a role model for young fans, and it appears this impressive young lady will be showing that she is the real deal.
In her 60 Minutes interview with Lesley Stahl, Taylor Swift says, "I definitely think about a million people when I am getting dressed in the morning." She adds, "That's just part of my life now. I think it's my responsibility to know it and to be conscious of it." While many celebrities try to brush off the notion that they are role models for young children, it's refreshing to see Taylor accept this and take it seriously. She has always seemed rather mature beyond her years, and her interview seems to reinforce that.
Taylor also says, "It would be really easy to say...I'm 21 now. I do what I want. You raise your kids. But...that's not the truth of it." She adds, "The truth of it is that every singer out there with songs on the radio is raising the next generation. So make your words count." What a refreshing outlook from a young lady who doesn't follow the path of some starlets always in the celebrity headlines.
